Arizona Parenting Magazine

Arizona Parenting Magazine is a monthly publication at which I currently work. While adhering to the magazine’s established look and template, I layout and design this publication cover-to-cover each month. In addition, I provide ad design support as needed, organize and execute monthly ad proofing/edits to advertisers, troubleshoot all submitted native art, color correct imagery, work with editor on pagination, maintain publication templates, and preflight and upload final proofing from printer's website using Kodak InSite. I also execute all post-production including some of the magazine’s monthly web components, and I archive and organize all digital files.

I achieve solutions to challenges which present themselves in a variety of forms, such as managing critically tight time constraints and last minute ad or article design, bringing out the best in less-than-optimal imagery and copy, and maximizing limited page real estate.

I’ve been designing and art directing publications for a number of years. This experience has afforded me the ability to lay out this publication in as little as 2-3 days, which can be necessary when components are not provided until very close to print deadline.
